We are very happy to be making a return visit to the wonderful Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow on the 31st January to launch our new album and new name! We will be performing at the International Piping Centre as part of the Deadly Duos series. We'd love to see you there to celebrate our launch in style!
Tickets are available through the Celtic Connections website.
Our new CD ‘Dancing of the Light’ is finished and available just in time for Christmas! You can order it from our webshop where you can also here some of the music from the album. The CD contains 14 tracks (8 songs and 6 instrumentals) and features music from Scotland, Ireland and Germany. This time we have included quite a few self-penned songs and tunes and are extremely happy with our new ‘baby’! Initial feedback from reviewers and fellow musicians has been fantastic! Hope you like it too!
Welcome to the new homepage of ‘Litha’!
Litha is the new name for the band 2Duos. The 2Duos started out as a collaboration between Claire Mann and Aaron Jones from Scotland and Gudrun Walther and Jürgen Treyz from Germany. Although initially 2Duos started out as an experimental collaboration we enjoyed playing and touring together so much that we decided to take the 'project' further and form a permanent band with a new name.
‘Litha’ is an old Anglo-Saxon word for the month of June, the time of light and the summer solstice celebrations. The band first met at Wimborne Folk Festival in England during the height of the summer in 2006 and so Litha felt like the perfect name for the band.
